2018

Streetwear was bigger than ever in 2018. A lot happened in 2018. It was the year Gucci became the definition of hip-hop culture. It was the year of fanny packs, so I had them almost everywhere that I went. It was the year of tiny sunglasses, and I purchased a pair from Gentle Monster to keep up. It was the year when YEEZY soared - they are comfortable, sporty, and very stylish. As a huge Kanye fan, I had to get my hands on a few of those. 2018 was also the year of sock shoes, started by Balenciaga. By the time I wanted to buy them, they were already everywhere, hence I went a different direction and bought another Reebok’s sock shoes. Revival of fur coats happened in this year too (mine were from Urban Outfitters). On top of those, 2018 also became the year of bucket hats’ comeback (fun fact: I didn’t need to buy bucket hats - I found them in my grandparents’ closets!). This year, I bought a lot of clothes that normally people won’t buy, including rain coats, vinyl pants, silk baseball jackets, v-neck shirts, you name it - I even customized clothes by myself (one of the collections was a set of crewnecks with my best friend’s pictures printed on them as my Christmas present to him). Although I don’t get to wear them a lot, I feel very special and empowered every time when I wore them - it’s an awesome feeling.
